A striking impression inside and out.
Rimu Street is a contemporary two-story office building on the corner of Riccarton Road and Rimu Street. The project was a design and build initiated by Parry Field Lawyers. They owned the site but had lost their offices following the 2011 earthquakes. Working out of temporary premises, the five partners were motivated to create a new build that better reflected their reputation and professionalism.
To deliver on their brief, we created a striking architectural design with extensive glazing to the east and north. The new building had more space than they required, so part of the challenge involved finding a tenant to lease out the ground floor, which we achieved before beginning construction. On conclusion of the project the client on-sold the building to an investor and now leases it back. Rimu Street’s distinctive presence has helped to elevate the Parry Field brand and become a point of pride for their team.
- Existing buildings on two boundaries meant careful consideration had to be given to build methodologies
- A striking architectural building with integrated fit-outs have made it one of the few ‘A-Grade’ office buildings in Riccarton
